Retirement! Also known as The Golden Years… It’s finally time to forget the 9 to 5 grind. Now its afternoon strolls through the park, reading a newspaper over a coffee at the local café, enjoying the finer things in life. In this article we’re going to answer the question; does Banora Point provide a lifestyle that suits the elderly? Once again the answer is yes.

There is an abundance of retirement options, for those who are wishing to purchase a home, and also for those wishing to take advantage of the retirement villagesand the services they offer. There are some 17 retirement villages to choose from.

Perhaps one of the best things about Banora Point is its sense of community. Specifically for seniors, there are loads of activities and groups to join, from watching birds and wildlife through to fantastic exercise programs. There are also groups which specialize in holidays for over 60’s! The internet is a fabulous place to source these groups and activities, here’s one to get you started:

Another fantastic service seniors and retirees have available to them is the “Pets of Older People” program provided by the NSW RSPCA. This service helps both elderly and their pets stay together, and in case of emergency you can rest assured your pet will be taken care of. You can read more about this here.

The Banora Point Community Centre operates a program called “Fun Activities for Banora Point Seniors”, aka FABS. This program includes a range of activities including gentle exercise, scrapbooking, Tai Chi, jewellery making and so much more!

So in summary, it would seem that Banora Point can and does cater to people of all age groups! Pack up the kids, heck, bring the parents, your new life awaits and Banora Point is here for the taking!
