What real estate do the richest Australians invest their money in?

By Karen Booth

Taking the plunge into investment is scary, so it’s only natural you would want to see what others are doing with their money, especially when they have been investing for longer and with more success than you. If you’re taking notes on how wealthy Australians are choosing where to invest, you are in luck. The 20th Edition of tech consultancy Capgemini’s World Wealth Report has hit the newsstands and it’s crammed with information on the spending and investments habits of Australia’s high net worth individuals. It seems that Australians are riding a wave of good property investments and using real estate investments as an important tool to grow their wealth.

Areas favoured by the rich include Sydney’s Point Piper, Victoria’s Toorak and Queensland’s New Farm type areas. With the median prices of homes in these areas ranging everywhere from 1 to 15 million dollars, this real estate is out of the price range of most but the very rich and famous. Keen real estate investors with smaller budgets needn’t despair though, as by snapping up properties in the surrounding areas they can purchase homes that are more affordable and are set to become popular in the future. What were sleepy seaside holiday areas are now buzzing, growing, community hubs.

Real Estate in areas such as Kirra and Coolangatta on the Gold Coast and Banora Point and Tweed Heads in New South Wales still remain in demand with real estate agents. These areas are set to increase in popularity with young families, interstate buyers, and dual living property developers as they offer more space and easy access to the beach without the high price tag. Areas such as these are also in high demand with those looking to make the switch from urban areas to suburban areas that are more suitable to raise families in and that already have established communities.

The best thing to do if you are considering purchasing a home as a property investment is to contact a professional agent for real estate Kirra, Banora Point or Coolangatta and discuss what your goals are and the projected time span on your investment. By making the right choice at a price you can afford, the area you choose today could be tomorrow’s property hotspot in Australia.

At Ray White Tweed Heads we deal with investors every day and help them make informed choices that are the right ones for our local area. If you’re looking to invest in Banora Point real estate or real estate Coolangatta or Tweed Heads, no one knows our back yard the way we do.
